About

Modesty Is Our Identity

A modest fashion house built on fabric, restraint and small runs.

دار الحياء

At Dar ul Haya, we believe modesty is not simply what you wear. It is an expression of confidence, grace and individuality.

The house began with a single problem: everything on the market was either beautifully made and unaffordable, or affordable and cut from fabric that would not survive a season. We started making the abayas we wanted to own — long, quiet, properly finished — and sold them directly so the price stayed honest.

What we make

Eighteen pieces,
made properly

We keep the catalogue deliberately small. Eighteen styles means every fabric is one we have worn ourselves for a season, and every fit has been corrected at least twice before it reaches the site.

It also means we can answer honestly when you ask whether a piece will suit you. If it will not, we will tell you.

Our values

Four things we will not trade away

Fabric first
We choose the cloth before we draw the garment. If a fabric does not fall properly at full length, the piece is not made — however good the sketch was.
Small runs
Nothing is produced in quantities we cannot inspect ourselves. It limits how fast we grow, and it is the reason returns for quality sit under one percent.
Made to be kept
Seams are finished on the inside, hems are weighted, and every piece is cut with enough allowance to be altered later rather than replaced.
Honest pricing
We sell direct, so the price reflects the making and nothing else. We do not run permanent sales or invent original prices to discount from.
